About Us

Dawlish Carnival has been operating for over 40 years since it was re-invented back in 1969. Many people have helped to keep the carnival going over the years and we would not be where we are today without all their hard work and dedicaction.

All the members that work on Carnival are all volunteers all with a normal day job or are at college, but we still give up over 600 hours a year to promote both Dawlish Carnival & Dawlish itself.

Dawlish Carnival is now operated by Dawlish Carnival & Entertainment Community Interest Company. This will not affect any of our events, it just allows us to be more professional and hopefully apply for and obtain external funding.

If you have any suggestions then please drop us an email directly and we will then discuss it, unfortunately not all suggestions can be taken on board. This is nothing against the idea but it may be impracticable, dangerous or inappropriate for the event.

During 2011, the team have attended over 15 carnivals, done well over 1000 miles travelling to and from them, completed over 750 hours attending those carnivals, spent over 1900 hours on Dawlish Carnival, spent 200 hours supporting other local groups in Dawlish, spent over 400 hours creating and maintaining the carnival float. Spent 1500 hours discussing and planning the 2011 Carnival. Gave up over 400 Hours for training courses. All in our spare time with no pay (and often no thanks).
